"In going where you have to go, and doing what you have to do, and seeing what you have to see, you'll dull and blunt the instrument you write with. But I would rather have it bent and dull and know I had to put it to the grindstone again and hammer it into shape and put a whetstone to it, and know that I had something to write about, than to have it bright and shining and nothing to say, or smooth and well-oiled in the closet, but unused."

This belt is meant to be worn hard and often. Solid brass hardware is used because it adds strength and weight.
It will stand up to the test of time - and the chestnut brown will darken to a tobacco color aging beautifully.
After you've worn it for 10 or more years, and it's wear patterns match the life you've lived during that time, you'll want to hang it on a nail in your house to preserve the memories made and imprinted on the leather.
The process begins with an uncut double shoulder of full grain, vegetable tanned leather handpicked from a local leather store.
The leather is then processed by hand into straps
The straps are cut to length upon order
The edges beveled and burnished
A handmade mixture of Wax and Oil is applied to protect the leather from water damage
Your choice of solid brass hardware is added.
Cut to size upon order and finished with the tip of your choice (English, Round, or Square). Indicate your size upon ordering. If you're unsure what size to order, see the image below.
I will apply a natural wax/oil mixture upon request. This nourishes & protects the leather, but will darken it.
